## Repaint check
TradingView's Pine manual uses volume profile as its example of an indicator that updates its values on realtime bars, which it calls acceptable. Built-in code isn't public, so we haven't reviewed it. ([source](https://www.tradingview.com/pine-script-docs/concepts/repainting/))

## Pros and cons

Pros
- Built in; you choose the exact range to profile
- TradingView documents how it picks lower-timeframe data (from 1S up to 1D) to stay under 5,000 bars
Cons
- Detail depends on the lower timeframe it can request, which changes with range length
- On futures and spreads it uses a different data-selection rule, per TradingView
