## Repaint check
Code review of the published Pine v4 source (37 lines): bands ratchet on close[1] (lines 14 and 17) and flips use the current close (line 20), so a flip can appear and vanish on the open bar. No pivots or offsets. The optional multi-timeframe setting (study resolution, line 2) pulls other-timeframe data, [which TradingView says can fluctuate on realtime bars and repaint after reload](https://www.tradingview.com/pine-script-docs/concepts/repainting/). - Three alert conditions built in: buy, sell and direction change
- Choose RMA or SMA for ATR, and the price source
- Band ratchet uses the prior bar's close; no future data (our code review)
Cons
- The author says it generally fails in sideways markets
- The optional multi-timeframe setting can repaint on live bars when set above the chart's timeframe
- A flip can appear and vanish on the open bar before it closes
